DAY 1: MONDAY
Perth
After arriving in Perth, make your way to the Crowne Plaza Perth, your overnight accommodation. Today is yours to enjoy this cosmopolitan city and prepare for your journey ahead.
DAY 2: TUESDAY
Perth to Pemberton
Today head south through the coastal cities of Mandurah and Bunbury, stopping at Koombana Bay foreshore. Then it’s on to Busselton to view the famous Busselton Jetty (over 2 kilometres long), followed by Dunsborough and then to the wine growing area of Margaret River. After wine tasting, pay a short visit to the Augusta Township. Continue to travel south to Cape Leeuwin. After a short walk to the lighthouse, head to your overnight accommodation at the Pemberton Hotel. (BD)
DAY 3: WEDNESDAY
Pemberton, Diamond Tree, Tree Top Walk, Albany
Visit the Diamond Tree Fire Lookout. Then on to Walpole for a stop at the Tree Top Walk in the Valley of the Giants. Continue through the town of Denmark and on to the historic port of Albany. Visit the coastal cliff area to view The Gap and Natural Bridge, and Mt Romance Perfume Factory. If time permits, take a stroll in the main street. Overnight at the Ace Motor Inn. (BD)
DAY 4: THURSDAY
Albany to Esperance
Travel to the Stirling Ranges for sightseeing at the base of Bluff Knoll. Then on to Hyden, followed by a leisurely stroll to see Wave Rock. Head south and visit the old mining town of Ravensthorpe before travelling to your base for the next 2 nights in the beautiful port town of Esperance at the Bay of Isles Motel. (BD)
DAY 5: FRIDAY
Esperance
This morning board the beautiful Seabreeze for a cruise of the Bay of Isles off Esperance. You may see dolphins, sea lions, seabirds and, in season, whales. Return from the cruise and head east to the beautiful Cape Le Grand National Park with its spectacular beaches, granite rock outcrops and coastline. Overnight at the Bay of Isles Motel. (BD)
DAY 6: SATURDAY
Esperance to Kalgoorlie
In the morning travel to the old gold mining towns of Norseman, Widgiemooltha and Kambalda, and then to the most famous of them all, Kalgoorlie. The afternoon is spent visiting the new Miners Hall of Fame and the North Kalgoorlie Tourist Mine. Drive out to the Super Pit, one of the largest holes on earthmade by man. Overnight at the Railway Hotel/Motel. (BD)
DAY 7: SUNDAY
Kalgoorlie, join the Indian Pacific
Today is yours to enjoy at leisure. Why not visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Desert Art Gallery or Langtrees 181. Alternatively, you may wish to relax in the comfort of the Railway Hotel/Motel. Board the Indian Pacific this evening and settle in to your Gold Service cabin. (B)
DAY 8: MONDAY
Indian Pacific, Cook,
The Nullarbor
Today you head east over the Nullarbor Plain, stopping at one of the world’s most remote outposts, Cook. Stretch your legs, get some fresh air and maybe even meet the locals – all seven of them! (BLD)
DAY 9: TUESDAY
Arrive Adelaide
Enjoy breakfast this morning before arriving in Adelaide. (B)
